Will I lose FPS?

I am currently running an i7 4770K OC to 4.4 with a 980ti and a 1920X1080 monitor at 144hz. If I upgrade to a new 27 inch 2560X1440 monitor at 144hz, will I lose FPS? I currently use NVI with 4XSGSSA to clean the AA up, which it does beautifully, I assume I could lower that number or dump it all together with the higher resolution monitor. Any thoughts will be much appreciated.

 

Below are my in game settings. I lock frames at 41

I think the killer would be keeping the 4SGSS at 2560. You are correct in that you may be able to dial it down or remove it entirely with the increase.

 

But as John says - try it - you're the only one who can answer the question.

It is absolutely free and quick to try running at a higher resolution if you do it with DSR. DSR is Dynamic Super Resolution, which is supported by your graphics card. DSR enables you to run higher resolutions than your monitor supports, because the graphics card will render every frame internally at the higher resolution, and then scale it back down to the native resolution before outputting the frame to your monitor. Your frame rate will take the same performance hit as if you were using an actual monitor with higher resolution. You can therefore get a very good estimate of what it will be like to run at 2560 x 1440 or higher if you test it with DSR.

That is what I am hoping, it's just that it is an expensive test!

I just created a custom resolution (2560x1440) for my monitor and was able to reduce to 2SGSS and keep the visuals I like with a reduction in FPS hit in clouds.

As JacquesBrel said: DSR is the solution to this answer. You can basically simulate the 1440p resolution on your current FullHD monitor and check if this has any negative influence on your FPS. BTW, in my case it was the same as vgbaron said: I just replaced my cheap and old FullHD 60Hz display with a brand new 1440p 144Hz display and all I changed was: reducing the SGSS in the Inspector from 4x to 2x (as you kind of have the 2x in the higher resolution included...).
