Simconnect P3d setup help

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

Are there any how to guides for getting simconnect running with P3d V3?

I have looked at the froogle video on you tube but this relates to FSX. Additionally i cannot find any MSI files in the SDK folder that i have installed from the P3d site..

any help or directing to the right place for answers would be greatfully received

In your main P3D folder is a folder "redist". Open it and you will find: Interface, ESPV1, FSX-RTM, FSX-SP1, FSX-SP2-XPACK. These are the SimConnect versions you should install.

ESPV1/SimConnect

FSX-RTM/retail/lib/SimConnect

FSX-SP1/retail/lib/SimConnect

FSX-SP2-XPACK/retail/lib/SimConnect

I always right click on the installers and "Run as Administrator" to avoid any permission conflicts. Each SimConnect will install almost instantaneously.

Some may say you don't need all four but if they are all installed, your system will be ready for any program that may need any version.

Good luck!

Not quite sure what you mean by this but if you are asking where the P3D.cfg is located, it is here: C:/users/(you)/AppData/Roaming/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3d. A helpful hint is to right-click on the Prepar3d.cfg file, send to, Desktop (create shortcut). Then you simply click on the shortcut any time you have to enter the .cfg file.

The other file you will want to have easy access to is the "Shaders" file to delete that file when you upgrade your graphic drivers and any time you make a change in the Prepar3d.cfg file. The location is: C:/users/(you)/AppData/Local/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3d. You delete the Shaders folder and P3D will rebuild them on the next run. There will be a delay before you will see an image as it takes a few seconds for them to rebuild. I also have created a shortcut to the "Prepar3d" folder as described above same process.

Hope this helps.
