October 1, 200520 yr I was doing some maintance of my PC and searching for junk files. In the FS2004 folder the search found these type of files .dk$, .tmp, and .oldBMP. Is it safe to delete these files? I would not want to delet these files then have something in FS2004 not work right.
October 1, 200520 yr I think that you should create a folder and then cut-paste those files into the new folder. Then just use FS9 for the next few days. If somethings wrong just move em back. If not - then I guess its safe to ditch em!
October 1, 200520 yr The first two yes, the last one, not so sure. If you renamed the file you'd remember it, and wouldn't need to ask - right? So, assuming aliens from the planet Zorg haven't been messing with your cranium that oldbmp has probably been created by a restore utility or installation routine that has overwritten what was there before. SO unless you know which aircraft or scenery package did it, I'd be inclined to leave that one, unless you have a full backup of that folder.Allcott
