I haven't tried FS Earth, but I have been using MyFSGoogleEarth very extensively for scenery design. It's a great tool. GoogleEarth is another huge resource hog, though, so sometimes FS and GE don't play together well for me. But my system is relatively slow.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

Tried getting it to work about 1/2 hour ago but no luck so far. Also tried to see how the " in FS" payment system worked and it came up with an "Error 5236:0748" referring me to another link where I was going to be charged $6 + change for downloading it (which I had done already) and for handling the financial business. That additional charge was more than half again the price advertised for FS Earth. Would like to know if my experience was one of a kind.Gary

I've been using it for a long time, it's great. BTW, FSEarth http://fsearth.fsutil.com/ has just released software that lets you track your flight in Google Earth.Dave FisherCYYZP4 Prescott 3.2e 478p 800mhz 1mg CPUP4P800SE Asus Motherboard1.5 gig PC3200 DDR RAM 400MHZGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HD x2WDC WD800 80 Gig HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpghttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpghttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg

Success! I was able to finially use the "in FS mode" method of payment after a number of attempts. Even though in previous attempts I had used FSQuickStart and disabled my MS firewall with no success but this morning I left everything running in the background and in the third attempt I was registered for $12.30 (CAD). This new version 1.0 works well and just used it to fly around in the latest VOZ scenery for Australia for an hour and all tracked beautifully. The most versatile and largest moving real terrain map possible on my second monitor. Well worth giving it a try.Gary :-cool

Fantastic, once I'd got it to work....a bit of a framerate slower though but excellent nevertheless. The registration process is a real pig though!!Kev

Yes, Kev, it's FPS hog alright. I suppose if I had a second computer to take the load it would be the cat's behind. I've been playing around with all the settings it provides so I am really no authority on it. Just thought folks might like to have some feedback. Gary

Just curious, why would anyone use FS Earth when MyFSGoogleEarth does the same thing for free?

I tried it but just do not see a big benefit. That said, I will/do use Google Earth to plan flight/find interesting airports to fly to.I downloaded someones 'placemarks' that identifies many airports vis ICAO identification and it makes finding airports 'zoomed out' much easier.Google Earth is great for getting a good feel for airports which could be interesting to 'fly into' as you can zoom-in and tilt low to see the terrain around you. I've used it extensively for planning trips from airport to airport.
