Prepar3D v3.2 is out !

Recommended Posts

Gonna try the "client" update soon as long as i dont have to reinstall everything. (same as 3.0 to 3.1)

Seems there is some improvements for us with SLI setup including Dynamic reflections

I am just wondering what these so called "functions" are from the update log ?

  • Fixed bug where certain SLI functions could be called when SLI was disabled

A 'couple of days', to quote them precisely.

The list of fixes and improvements is impressive.
Very well done LM!

I sincerely barely understand how people can complain.

Downloading now!

It certainly is an impressive list of improvements. I'll only be able to install this weekend.

Can anyone who has installed it comment on the most significant noticeable improvement (be it visual or functional) as a general user.

Hi. So my question is: If I just install the new Client part and not the "optional" Scenery part, then what am I missing out on?

Thanks,

Jeff

Up until now I've always did a full/clean installation when a new version was released but this time I'm considering giving the update approach a go so I too am interested in what you'll be missing out on going that path?

In the release notes there are also a few changes to Prepar3D Content and Prepar3D Scenery. I assume you will not get these if you only install the new client. I'm planning a full reinstall as I have always done once all third party content is compatible and after that only install the addons I'm currently using.

For me (and presumably most others) only the client update is important. Easily done with a few mouse clicks if you carefully follow LM's installation / update guide. The content and scenery does not contain any changes that affect me, therefore I leave them untouched (since 3.0).

Chris

That makes sense, but I'm a little worried that I miss out on something important when I don't reinstall the Prepar3D Scenery as well. This adds 'improved vegetation alpha to coverage'. Does anyone know what this means exactly?

People have been complaining about FSX not being updated since 2006, now we have a plateform upgrading every 3 months and they complain further more.

It's been a few years I did not check a flightsim forum, I forgot about that whole fun part.

Wait, let me check if people still wine about PMDG pricing in 2016.

Quote of the day. :)

So HOW necessary is it to update to 3.2?  I realize that LM made it a little easier for updating, but just curious if those on 3.1 need to update?  I happened to fly last night for about 2-3 hours and experienced no issues, nor have I really had any issues with serious consequences since I installed 3.1.  I don't fly the heavies currently, mainly VFR flying over lush ORBX scenery.  Is is a take it or leave it scenario?

Jim, I am in the same boat as you re 3.1 as well as style of flying. I will definitely update after Objectflow & Co. are working again. I think the visual as well as performance improvements I read about are worth it.
