Prepar3D v3.2 is out !

Recommended Posts

But I had to update the content package as well in order to get GSX and SODE windows back to work. The update of the client package was not sufficient.

Is it confirmed that, by updating just the Client, GSX and SODE WON'T work? Thanks.

That will work for clouds, but only for clouds ... other FX like, jet wash, prop wash, rain, smoke, engine smoke, wheel spray, etc. will have a huge impact on FPS also (espeically if they fill up the screen like when taxiing with wind in snow/rain conditions).

Cheers, Rob.

As I am using a home cockpit and my 3 monitors are just for outside views I do not have those high impact..

Only snow and rain can drag down the framerate on my system..

Looks I'm not the only one downloading the new version... Approx 600kB/sek and the bottleneck is not on my side...

Thanks,Rob, but I don't believe either the QW 146/RJ or the iFly 737 are ready for v3 yet. That's the problem I have with a lot of the offerings I see.  They will tend to imply they are good to go, but when I start really checking they aren't for v3.  But, thanks for trying.  I'm going to keep checking when they update. I can still fly it in FSX, though. The RJ is one of my favorites.

Just tested Canberra Cityscape and airport with sliders to the right in the Legacy and i can manage 22-35fps with good results.

But all my saved worldcams in EZDOK is not working. I have no ideer why and saving new ones doesnt work.

I just did a full reinstall as I wanted all the updates. It was fairly painless really. Just getting various FTX stuff reinstalled bit by bit, that takes a bit longer but I'm quite accomplished at the old reinstall game now!

Very nice update from LM I'd say. It fixed the 2 things that had bugged me - A2A Skylane strobe lights and the long loading times for Night Environment. That is looking superb now. Just took off from Heathrow and couldn't resist taking a snapshot from the cockpit of my Canberra!

This is the way night lighting should be... beautiful

Good to know. I was just thinking about reloading that after I stopped using it with 3.1.

I just reloaded all my orbx stuff but the lights still don't go far enough into the distance. So glad NE works properly. Installing now!

Is NE capable of changing ORBX lights or does it just work with Global or Default Scenery?

The latest update (today) is just to fix those who are having trouble re-activating 3.2.

No need for most to update, not if you re-activated ok.

GTN's should now work with P3D v3.2

From the SimForums

The GTN should work fine with P3D V3.2 by using the Flight1 Update Tool.

The definitions file is numbered 1.04

As soon as you download the new definitions file, the GTN will work with the latest P3D V3.2, please enjoy it!

Note: It might not work for you, if you installed the v3.2 HotFix released earlier today.

Bob

It doesn't turn off ORBX lights because they are set up as autogen objects rather than effects, but it can work well with them both activated. Alternatively you can have 2 graphics settings - one for day flights and one for night flights. The night one turns off vegetation autogen then you just get the NE lights if you want that. Doing that is a good idea because you can save resources to turn NE up higher! And you don't miss the trees at night!

In P3D you can save the graphics settings as a profile so it's easy to switch between them.

If you want to have NE for the continental USA, it will cost you a fortune. It's like a night version of MSE.

Does NE even exist for the continental USA?  That's really my whole problem with it.  I think it's a promising product but it seems to only be available for a few states which makes it a non-starter for me.  If they actually had full coverage for the USA I'd buy it despite the cost.  But for just a few states, I'm not interested at all.
