CAE have been doing this with the likes of Easyjet and Ryanair over here for a number of years. Don't think it's very popular with those in the industry.

So you still have to pay around $125,000 for the course, work at least a year as CFI after it, and then log 2,500 hours in CapeAir/ExpressJet (2/3 years of flying) until you can actually transition as FO to jetBlue.

 

Seems like a better deal is to just get frozen ATPL in one of the privately owned flying schools and then apply to any regional carrier by yourself. It will run you cheaper and probably will take less time to transition into bigger jets.

I'm not sure I understand the point of this.  In Canada, working up all the way to ATPL-eligible is a 1.5-year, $70,000 affair if you do it full-time, you still have 1-2 years to do as a CFI, and then you get to the same point, minus that you have to apply yourself to airlines.

I wondered that too. The reason it works so well in Europe is the fact that we don't have any restrictions on the numbers of hours needed before getting behind the controls of something like an A320/B737 so you go straight into the jet job at a major airline, which as you can imagine, is a major pull.
