Not a noob, but struggling with acronyms/abbreviations

Acronyms. Epidemic Disease.  Many of them have multiple meanings across many subjects. Let's take just one:

 

"AA".

 

Anti-Aliasing, Automobile Association, Alcoholics Anonymous, Architectural Association, American Airlines, Android Apps, Advertising Association, etc.

 

As Ray says, always state the full phrase first, unless you are certain everyone knows what you mean. Here's a Acronym Generator. I think it's a joke but you never know....
