King Air B200 Fuel Consumption

Hi Everybody!!

 

I have an issue with the B200 fuel consumption. Fuel is used only from left tanks, either auxiliary or main. I'm running FSX Steam Edition, Windows 10, 64 bits, B200 SP1 and SP2 installed (I have not seen this problem reported in this forum). This is very annoying as the center of gravity of the plane moves and makes the plane to bank, specially when landing. Does anybody has experienced this problem or has a clue how to fix it?

Did you check the fuel panel to make sure you are not in crossfeed?

You might also need to reset your default flight.  I'd suggest the Cessna 172, magneto's "on" and fuel selector set to "both".  Save that as your default flight and do not change it.

Thanks for your replies. Yes Ken, I checked the fuel panel. Is not in crossfeed. Stans, I don't think it has to do with the startup flight as this only happens to the Carenado B200. Other Carenado turboprops as the B1900 and the C90 GTX do normal fuel consuption from both left and right tanks. Anyway I will try your suggested defalt flight and advise.

You may have some variables saved in your default flight as carryovers that are interfering with the B200. Try restoring your default flight to the motoglider following this recommendation. http://www.avsim.com/topic/271197-reset-default-flight-fsx/#entry1692004

 

If that does not work then you may have an error with the B200 install, try uninstalling and reinstalling. 

 

One other question, are you using FSX (Boxed), FSX:Steam, P3D2.x or P3D3.x?

Hi Guys. Stans, Ken, You were right. The problem was that the fuel selector was in the left tank position! I don't know why this didn't affect other planes. Maybe because different fuel sysytems. I corrected it and save a new default flight and now is working great. Many thanks for your prompt responses and great advise!

From my experience with Carenado products, they rely heavily on MicroSoft's coding for systems management.  So when your default flight is saved with the fuel selector on anything other than "both", you are more likely to have fuel selector problems when you load a Carenado aircraft.  Glad we were able to help you sort out the problem.

As for me giving good advice, I always say that once in a while even a blind squirrel finds an acorn.
