REX4 Hotfix for 3.2 coming

Recommended Posts

Guys hold up on loading any REX4 textures into P3D V3.2

REX Statement

A hotfix for Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D v3.2 will be issued soon. All other updates are only valid for Microsoft's Flight Simulator X, Steam Edition, and Lockheed Martin's v2 to v3.1

Thanks for posting that Rich.

David, I think this is due to the loss of low level clouds when you install REX textures. It has happened to me. It's strange because they installed fine at first but then after a while I noticed I wasn't seeing them anymore. I had changed a few settings in that time though, notably putting HDR on for a bit. I saw in the 3.2 release thread here that someone else thought it was related to turning on HDR so perhaps that is what did it.

I saw in a thread on the REX forums that was about that specific issue, one of the developers said they were investigating it.

EDIT: ah you beat me to it Rich!

Not quite true! - they get sunshine once or twice a year. You could get that on those days!!

When we install the hotfix, the issue would be fixed?

Or do we have to install the backup textures.

By the way: in don't have this issue. Would it only appear when i use a weather addon?

Hello everyone -

First, thank you all for your patience as we work this out.

We are aware of the issue that the latest REX service packs create with the low-clouds.  Unfortunately, our service packs were released before LM update was released.

The hotfix is nearly done.  We just need to test it.  If you have not updated to the latest service packs they are on hold for now.  Once the hotfix is issued you will need to install the service pack and the hotfix.

If you have the service pack installed and using P3D v3.1 you are fine.  If you are using P3D v3.2 you will need to wait until the hotfix is issued.  The hotfix will correct the file within REX so when you install low-clouds textures it will automatically fix the issue you are having within P3D 3.2.  We are testing on the latest build just released P3D v3.2.3.

Only products affected by this are:

REX 4 Texture Direct (build: 4.6.2016.0210)

REX 4 Texture Direct w/Soft Clouds (build: 4.8.2016.0210)

REX Soft Clouds (build: 4.3.2016.0210)

All other products from REX are fine.

We will keep you advised here.
