Flight 1 Mustang for Prepar3d is out!

What about the cockpit?

For $35 you really cannot go wrong. This BLOWS away anything Carenado could come up with.

If they fixed nothing else in the airplane, I hope they fixed the transponder bug which was reported in the previous version (for VATSIM, etc.).

I have flown on VATSIM the last 2 days using VPilot and the Mustang TRNSPNDR works perfect .  As soon as I click it  ON,  the MODE C on VPILOT connects.  If I hit IDENT on the MUSTANG, the IDENT on VPilot illuminates as desired .  If I hit STNDBY on the Mustang, VPilot MODE C turns OFF ...

Gregg, thanks for the good summary. How would you compare the textures to the Citation X or the Flightsimware Lear 35?

I have the Citation X but not the Lear 35.  The Mustang is much, much nicer in terms of textures.  Not saying they're great...they could use some improvement...but it's nicer and within the realm of reasonable.  I don't Bhave the Lear 35 so I can't say much about it, but that's a different kind of airplane than the Citation X and Mustang.  In terms of flying the Citation X, I found it more difficult to manage.  For one thing, it's a two-pilot aircraft so, yeah, there's that.  Documentation was decent, systems were deep (and sometimes a bug reared it's head).  GUI was, sometimes, a pain...very difficult to program hardware switches compared to most airplanes...clickspots were difficult at times.  Not as fun to fly but, boy, is it fast.  Both of these airplanes are definitely worthy of a new release (and the Citation X has one planned).  Look both up on youtube and watch some RW flights.

A thousand times, yes!  I have continually hoped that Carenado would make a nice one and have no doubt their flight modelling is a dream...but their systems are no comparison at all.  Don't tell Jeff this, but I think $35 is very cheap.  .

I have flown the Mustang in its previous versions so very much and loved (and sometimes hated) it.

Hi Gregg,

are you simming again? I started reading your other post, but didn't follow through lately.

That's a really nice paint.  Here's my custom paint I made (doesn't include interior).

That is wonderful news!  It was reversed before so you couldn't use vPilot.

Hi Perry,

Not yet but, honestly, this news has got me thinking again.  Life's been busy even without flight simming.  But, I still keep watching the community and am so glad about this news.  At least now, with this release, I can completely retire FSX.  So, perhaps soon.

Actually Steve its around A$46.00. The Flight1 website has not been updated to show the new US$35.00 price point.

Cheers

Dave ,

When I posted this, the website F! showed $US39.95, $66A. I checked after reading your post and it now showing $US54.95 which is $A73 - talk about inflation and exchange rates

It's now $US35, bought it yesterday, I think the website is still in a state of update, but when you go to actually purchase after downloading, the correct price is shown.

What Allen said.

Take no heed of the Website - which must be the most poorly maintained Web Site in flight simming. With Paypal fees I paid a little over A$47.00. (Damn exchange rates)

I picked it up today.  My video card's having some difficulty but I did manage to get a 5 minute flight.  Lovely to have the Mustang back.

Agreed.  The High Sierra paints are a must have for the Mustang.  The interior options are especially nice.  If you have the Mustang and don't have this, you're missing out!

Not sure what went wrong but the High Sierra paints are only a glossy black exterior and no change to the interior. Nevertheless a great little bird, it's the only one I've used for 48 hours now.
