Ultimate Traffic 2 Prepar3D v3 & v4

Recommended Posts

System.IO.IOException: Could not complete operation since a file already exists in this path 'C:\Users\Jetline\AppData\Roaming\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Startup.bak'.

That's cropped up a couple of times,   Go to this location, And check to see whats there,   you may have multiple files here causing this

First, exe.xml.

Path looks to be correct because this is the exact path that the Windows Explorers shows to P3D.

Computer > P3D (G:) > P3D

Now inside that folder I have these:

Folders:

Databases

Help

Logs

Plans
Timetables

Timezones

Files:

testUt2startup.bak (I renamed it that to stop the error message I get ONLY when unticking sound)

UT2Interface.db

UT2Interface.old

UT2Settings.cfg

UT2Startup.wav

As frustrating as this may sound..........

At this stage,  Personally i would Uninstall UT2 and start again.

Here's the thing, you wont need to Activate your UT2 Flight 1 Licence again because the UT2 Installer is saved in your C drive in the Flight One Folder

(1) Uninstall UT2 in your Control Panel Programs and Features  Restart your Computer.

(2)  Make sure the Ultimate Traffic 2 folder has been removed after you Uninstall UT2 in this Location  (C:) ► Users ► you ► AppData ► Roaming ► Flight One Software Ultimate Traffic 2

(3)  Go to your C Drive\Flight One Software folder were you will find the UT2 Installer,  Right Click and run as administrator

Follow the rest of the steps from the original Guide,  When you run the Installer it will want to Install to FSX,  Change this to Point to your Prepar3D location (Make sure you have your FSX.EXE in there as well)

There is No need to open the UT2 control Panel,  Just get your planes Up and Running first.

Remember,  There are only 2 things that make your UT2 planes appear in Prepar3D,  is your simobjects.cfg and your xml.exe.

All the other Paths you have to set up is to do with your Control Panel,  You can set these up later.

It takes up to 10 seconds sometimes for the planes to appear!!

And for the love of Prepar3D, stay away from the Migration Tool :smile:

I'll do all this and get back to you.

It was someone here who told me to buy it and run it.  I didn't know much about it as I never had P3D before .

This will take me a little bit and I will get back to you as soon as I am able.

Still nothing.

I uninstalled it through the Control Panel.

Users > Jetline > AppData > Roaming > Flight One Software > Ultimate Traffic 2 was gone.

Ran UT2 as administrator and installed it to the correct P3D path.

It installed fine.

Checked the text in the xml.exe file and there was no change, it still pointed to the correct path, G:\P3D (I originally named it P3D when I installed it.)

Changed the path in simobjects.cfg.

Ran it, and still nothing.

Scratching my head.

Want me to send anything?

Are there registry entries messed up from the migration tool?

Should I do this?

(1) Restore the PC with Acronis to right before I installed UT2.

(2) Uninstall the migration tool per your instructions.

(3) Reboot and try it all over again?

It pains me to see so many people get this working but I can't.

The only thing I needed to add was the line SimObjectpaths.0SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

I assume that this is a typo, and that you actually have this.....

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

Yes, I just double checked.  It was a typo on my part just here in the thread.

It's fine in the file as I copied and pasted directly from your document.

I have that statement above in the P3D.cfg file.

I also have the following in my SimObjects.cfg file.........

SimObjectPaths.10=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

Further back in this thread, you posted this list of statements in your SimObjects.cfg file........

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes
SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Avatars
SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\Rotorcraft
SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\GroundVehicles
SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Boats
SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Animals
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\Misc
SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\Submersible
SimObjectPaths.8=SimObjects\Weapons
SimObjectPaths.9=SimObjects\Countermeasures
SimObjectPathsRemarks=These entries were automatically added from SimObjects.cfg by Migration Tool. Set RepairConfig=0 in MigrationTool.cfg to disable.
User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter, Submersible, ExternalSim, Avatar
SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

SimObjectPaths.10=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

The item in bold should not be there. I would also get rid of the SimObjectPathsRemarks entry aswell. It is not required.

I found something that could hold potential.

In the above text I looked in my P3D.cfg and removed the remarks.

But neither of these exists:

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

SimObjectPaths.10=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

However, here's the text of my fsx.cfg in the P3D folder and notice it has a #10 for something else and no SimObjectPaths.10=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft.

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes
SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Avatars
SimObjectPaths.10=SimObjects\Countermeasures
SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft
SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Rotorcraft
SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\GroundVehicles
SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Boats
SimObjectPaths.6=SimObjects\Animals
SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\Misc
SimObjectPaths.8=SimObjects\Submersible
SimObjectPaths.9=SimObjects\Weapons
SimObjectPathsRemarks=These entries were automatically added from SimObjects.cfg by Migration Tool. Set RepairConfig=0 in MigrationTool.cfg to disable.
User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter, Submersible, ExternalSim, Avatar
SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

I did remove the remarks however.
So if I add that line with 10 won't it conflict?

That line above in the SimObjects.cfg file should be.....

SimObjectPaths.10=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

I also have these two statements in my Prepar3D.cfg file.......

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Airplanes AI

The second one is because I use a lot of additional models as AI planes. You will not need that if you are only using the default UT2 aircraft.

I don't understand Christopher.

What file should I put what in?

There's so many files to modify.

Should I add lines to my P3D.cfg file and the fsx.cfg?

Should I change lines in the SimObject.cfg file?

Sorry, I'm old.

Don't worry, Jack. I have confused myself here! I am currently trying to find the file that contains those SimObjects statements on my system!! However, you definitely need to change that "0" to a "10" in the "SimObjectPaths=" statement.

EDIT: Can someone let me know where those SimObjectPaths statements should now be located? I can't find them in the Prepar3D.cfg or SimObjects.cfg files, but they must be somewhere otherwise I would not be seeing all of the installed aircraft, AI boats etc!

Thank you Christopher I really appreciate your patience.

Can you please when you get a chance tell me what file to modify and what the name of it is as well as the path which is most important because there's so many files I have to look at.

We have the P3d.cfg

We have the fax.cfg

We have the exe.xml

We have the UT2Settings,cfg

We have the Simobjects.cfg

I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing to what at this point.

When I run P3d v 3.2 I don't even have a UT2 add-on menu like I once did in FSX.

I don't think at this point it would be a good idea to run FSX huh?  Maybe after we get P3D worked out?

Jack,

For the record......can you let me know what SimObjectPaths statements you have in the Prepar3D.cfg file? In addition, which file includes the full list of SimObjectPaths statements (the ones with Airplanes/Boats/Weapons etc)?
