Prepar3D v3.2 vs. FSX Steam Edition FPS comparison at Chicago O'Hare with heavy traffic

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I have put a video on Youtube, in which I have compared how both sims (Prepar3D v3.2 and FSX:Steam) perform under heavy AI traffic load over time in terms of FPS, and how they respond to an increase in the water/shadow settings. With large international airports such as Chicago O'Hare, the FPS are known to degrade over time due to the build-up of traffic, so I was interested to see how both sims would handle this scenario.

I have attempted to generate similar graphical quality conditions in both sims, but I know that it is not that simple (for instance, P3D generates more autogen objects into a larger radius than FSX at the same autogen setting). Also, I am aware that the FPS is not necessarily synonymous with smoothness, where P3D is known to have an advantage over FSX. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to observe the frames.
