saitek quadrant problem

Recommended Posts

Hello,

i recently jumped onto purchasing a Saitek quadrant, my only problem is if i have the throttle on idle and move a little forward the simulator sees this as me using the trottle to around 75% when in fact ive hardly moved it. it feels like it just spikes to far forward.

is there a fix for this?.

many thanks.

First, make sure that the throttle function is only assigned to the throttle lever. If you've just got the quadrant, there may still be an old throttle assignment that's interfering with it.

If you're sure that the throttle function is only assigned to the quadrant, check the quadrant response through the Windows Control Panel to see if it also jumps there. With your quadrant plugged in, in Windows 7 (not sure about 8 or 10) open the control panel, devices and printers, right-click on your Saitek Pro Flight Quadrant icon and select game controller settings. In the subsequent box, select properties and, under the test tab, see if moving your throttle levers produce smooth, full-range movements of the sliders. If that's OK then it's definitely an FSX problem. However, if it still jumps then it may be a problem with the potentiomenters in the quadrant. Try plugging it in to another USB port, preferably not through a USB hub and try it again in the control panel. Surprisingly, this sometimes makes a difference. If the problem persists and it's a new quadrant, I would return it. If not, try taking it apart and clean the pots - there are YouTube videos to show you what to do.
