October 3, 200520 yr "the ariane models do not have winflex that i am aware of. I am 99.9 percent sure that they dont have wingflex"The 300-500 don't, at least the original gmax ones. However, they do have dynamic wing views. I asked fifty north about this, since putting dynamic wing views in their models would have been a no-brainer & adds only a couple of moments to the modelling process--and their website said "wing views" are coming. They responded that on the release of the 2-d panel, they were planning static 2-d wing views. On the off chance they misunderstood my question, I guess users waiting for those will have to wait. The fifty north models look visually stunning, but it is still in the same league as an IFDG release without a VC or other features common to payware. Current purchasers should accept that they are paying for the chance to spread word of mouth and paying to fund the next update from fifty north. I have done just that for many payware packages, but since I have been out of payware purchases for the past several months, it wouldn't be fair to say whether I would have purchased this one or not.-John
October 3, 200520 yr Hello Mark,No where in my posts did I say anything about the lack of a panel. My issue is with the lack of specific flight models. It says on the sales page "Note: This is a model kit only. No custom 2D or Virtual Cockpit is included." and "Models are designed using high standards given by G-max and MSFS development kits." It does not say "Visual" Model or "Flight Models Not Included."May seem like a minor nitpick, but I initially made my purchase based on wanting 737-300/400/500 flight dynamics more than eye candy. There are differences in performance on each model, thats what I wanted. Based on a suggestion in this thread I will probably keep it, but still feel the point is not that clear.Joe Lorenc Joe Lorenc
October 3, 200520 yr Dude, 'model kit only' pretty well implies that. To most of us on the other side, model simply means model. No-one should be held liable for people reading the wrong thing into the word 'model.'For what its worth as far as the model goes it is unmatched in accuracy or quality by any other payware 737 available at the moment - good enough for me, especially with the other peripherals due to follow soon.
October 3, 200520 yr Well, Dude to me MODEL refers to flight model, as what flying should be about.:-hahThis whole thing started as me just making people aware of something not that obvious. If look in this forum there are a few questions/comments about the FDE, and in another forum people mis-used that very type of comment (one attributed to you, BTW). That resulted in at least one individual commenting how great the FDE MODEL was compared to FFX, for instance.I will probably keep the AC and live with the great visuals until feelthere come out with theirs.Joe Lorenc Joe Lorenc
October 4, 200520 yr I know, I know...I noticed the same thing though, the included FDE also has problems with trim outright not working, but I'm sure someone will do better, or they'll release an update when they ad the cockpit and other things.Who knows, I just know I'm happy with it. :+
January 6, 200620 yr >Just use the airfiles from the FFX 737's they work fine. I am>using a modified PMDG one and its great. The default was not>so decent IMHO. There are lots of air files running around>which wil work just fine IMHO.>>HornitJust purchased the fiftynorth package. Do you have any links for those airfiles? Are there just one FFX airfile or one for each one of them (300/400/500)? Actually, I considered the feelthere 737 classic, but I got so disappointed searching their forums...cause of all them bugs. My hangar is also stuffed with complex payware aircrafts...haven't really got the time to learn them all anyway.
January 6, 200620 yr Eric, This coming from you is an endorsment of 50N ! Personally, I like the model very much, just wish there were a few more repaints around like this one ! As regards flight model, personally I dont have many issues, however if one of the guru's knows a work round....Ash
