The default P3d cumulus01.bmp is 256 as are the various cirrus/high clouds textures. The cloud textures are mipmapped (the actual bitmap is 512x256 to accommodate the smaller bitmaps used at distance) and are 4x4 texture sheets of the various sprites. Each sprite in the largest bitmap is a 64x64 pixels. In case you're wondering, the term MIP comes from the Latin, multum in parvo, meaning "much in little"

mane autem bonum , quomodo!

Thanks. I was looking for some textures that might be a little more cpu friendly. I like a a lot of clouds, and as most of us know, it can take its toll.

If you have a recommendations, please let me know.

Very informative post! Love it!
