First Ever PMDG?

Recommended Posts

Hello Fellow Simmers;

Do any of you know what was the first ever PMDG aircraft released for a flight sim? I cant really find any useful information on the web.

Many Thanks,

AFAICR, the first aircraft was the B1900D or one of the variants for FS9. But I stand to be corrected.

Wasn't it the 757 on the Fly! platform, some time in the mid '90's? - I recall buying it, but suspect it was first followed by a 777 - how would have thought!

I'd say it was the 737NG for FS2002, at least that's the first one I tried and remember. The B1900 came definitely after the first 737NG.

I believe before that they used to do the documentation for other planes right, maybe the PSX? Hence the nace "Precision Manuals..."

PS: On not finding "history" information on their web I already wrote a thread

There were founded in 1997 and here is their Wiki - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precision_Manuals_Development_Group

Thats great! Yes, I have seen the wiki page, but dont always believe everything they say. I wonder if someone has any pictures of the first product made by PMDG. That would be great to see.

Well I have the boxed 737-600/700, their first product, and could upload some pictures! Also got the -800/900 which was sold separetely but also introduced improvements to the -600/700, so it was really a big Service Pack.

It wasn't too long ago anyway! I must have bought it 12 years ago or so.

Didn't they, or some predecessor company, create a 767 wayyy back for either FS98 or FS2000?

EDIT: I found the 767, and a 757 and 777 which were made for Fly! in 2000. I found reviews for the 767 (http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?1281) and 777 (http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?1284) over at flightsim.com. It's amazing to see how far sims have come in 16 years.

I got their disked version of the 737-600/700, but was not sure if I had bought the B1900D before that, in between buying their 800/900.

Jim's done the corrective work.

create a 767

There was one made by PIC.

I think the first one was the 757 for Fly!, back around 2000.

Here's a screenshot of PMDG 777 for Fly!2k:

So interesting, didn't even know about that flight simulator (that's because of being born in 91 I guess :)

Any more information on that? I can't find anything on google, typing "pmdg 777 fly!" just returns the present 777...

Some archived web pages and a few pics from the old PMDG website around 2001:

So, it wasn't a 777 c 2001 but a 767 with 777 panels, after all.

No it was a 777, the 767 was a separate product. There's just no pic available of it

Thanks
