Throttle position on touchdown

Recommended Posts

Upon touchdown the NGX throttles don't go fully idle is this a P3D limitation or does this happen in the real world

More likely a hardware issue than anything else.

The thing is if i move the throttles FWD and back again they then go to idle

Not sure if its hardware could be a limitation?

I found this

The key thing that happens different here than in the real plane is that in FSX they can't simulate the different idle settings commanded by the EECs so the throttles will actually move to those corresponding positions instead of commanding them from the idle position. I hope I said that in a way that makes sense.

At 27ft radar, the throttles go to idle on an autoland, RW.

In the real plane, there is a dead band at the bottom, maybe 3/4" or 2cm. Once below that and to the stops, there is no change.

This is correct. FSX/P3D does not model different idles, so they're forced.

So what you saying? What i'm seeing is normal behaviour for the sim?

So surely its not my hardware its the sim limitations?

Conclusion is its not my hardware, its infact the sim platform and NGX

What is your A/T Manual Override setting in the pmdg , options, simulation section of the fmc menus? Should be on NEVER I believe. - David Lee

Or on "On HOLD only" so you can override on the take-off roll in case you need it, but I think this has nothing to do with the OP's issue.

What i'm seeing is very normal behaviour because P3D or FSX limitations
