2.0.0.12 always crashes after connecting to x-plane 10

p2atc consistently crashes within a minute after connecting to xplane 10.45.

(btw this also happens with v2.0.0.8 and up, AND v 1.4..x)

 

The crashes occur randomly at various places in p2atc, but always after connecting to x-plane.

Can be after 5 sec, 30 sec, 1 minute.

 

I only get the useless Windows message ...will close the program and notify you if solution is available  bla bla.

 

Any log I can send?

 

EDIT: OS is Windows 10 latest.

That kind of crash is usually due to running out of memory or cpu resources.

 

You might want to try running Task Manager and watching the Memory and CPU utilization to see if they are running over 70-80% and if they are spiking above even that.

 

Even with a good graphics card, it's going to require at least 8GB of memory and possibly more depending on the aircraft you fly.

 

Let us know what you find.

I don't think it's resources.

My config is:

Z97 / 16Gb ram / i7-4790iK / gtx 970

 

Also watched resource monitor with no peaks during crash.

That definitely doesn't sound like resources are the problem.  You have plenty of horsepower.

Maarten,

Based on the error message and other info you sent, it is obviously a Windows access permissions issue happening just as you bring up Pilot2ATC.

 

Try running the program as administrator by:

1) Right-click the Pilot2ATC_200.exe file in Windows Explorer

2) Click "Run As Administrator" or similar menu item in the drop-down

Managed to fix this with:

 

runa scan with ccleaner and dll files fixer.

cleaned up registry.

 

Also performed sfc /scannow

And finally..the real fix.

 

background program in my system tray was causing the crashes.

It's a fine tuning program that came default with my gigabyte videocard.

Found it by checking Windows Event Viewer.
