Majestic Software's Dash 8: Any Good?

It pays to read. There is an Airline version (Corporate Edition) which, as SAID BEFORE is used by Airlines. I rest my case. "WHat are Frolov's credentials"If you are soo interested in Mr. Frolov's credentials based on his product, asking a question may be of some help to you. "I assume he is an experienced commercial pilot and instructor"Well they say that those of us that "assume", well you can figure out the rest. All I am saying folks is that before we start jumping the gun with what we think (or claim to know), Do the RESEARCH first. As far as JAA certification, I may have applied this incorrectly (however we do make mistakes, forgive me for being human). The Fanda Dash 8 that we all love so well had a primary goal upon its creation.

I quite like the look of both the Majestic and PSS's Dash 8 (I fly the latter, because orf its quite elegant flying quality and VC)-it's up to you which one to get.

Their advertising claims it, so it must be so, right? Are you one of those guys that buys "fat burner" pills because the TV ads say they work, too? If so, I can point you to an entire product line of devices which are guaranteed to increase the size of certain body parts. Regrettably, the brain ain't among 'em.As I asked before, WHICH airline(s) use this as a training device, and in what capacity?? A poster on a cardboard mockup is a type of cockpit procedure trainer, too. I'd like to verify this claim in more detail independent of the advertising.>All I am saying folks is that before we>start jumping the gun with what we think (or claim to know),>Do the RESEARCH first. As far as JAA certification, I may>have applied this incorrectly (however we do make mistakes,>forgive me for being human).Reading the advertising posted on a publisher's website is not "RESEARCH." Perhaps some "RESEARCH" might have led to a factually correct conclusion before "jumping the gun" with a bogus JAA certification claim, yes?Nobody is claiming to "know" anything...but some of us would like to know a little more. There have been some claims I'd like to see verified.>The Fanda Dash 8 that we all love so well had a primary goal>upon its creation.Fascinating. Who'd have ever guessed something like that?My compliments...I think you've done an admirable job poking us right in the finger with your eye. I must admit, I like the plane, but regarding that Airline marketing I was indeed scratching my head. There are significant issues with the yaw axis (esp. when using real weather), the plane is laterally instable (bit questionable for a commercial plane), the FMC is incomplete and the AP tends to sudden oscillations out of nowhere. The team claims low fps to be responsible for that, but I have these issues on two PCs with big fps difference. Airlines won't use real weather for their procedures training, but it's still weird. However, I just hope it will be solved soon.Regarding their Pro version for Euro 99, I find myself REALLY fooled. It is advertised with Multi-Monitor Bitmaps and the possibility to simulate hydraulic failures. After purchase I found the Multi-Monitor Bitmaps to be only magnified versions of the normal bitmaps with forgotten night lighting. And I learned, Flight Surface failures have been excluded from Hydraulic failures. A bit surprising the Dash-8 flight surfaces don't need hydraulics ...Mike
