New community user mods almost ready for show time - hold on to your socks.

Recommended Posts

Jamek BIn has gone way overboard with his mods. Just about everything that has been suggested is now working and a whole lot more. We plan a very short beta testing period that is starting at midnight tonight (actually that is the Alpha, the beta starts at sunrise). We have an expanded beta testing team that will be getting copies tomorrow (Saturday) so they can check things out over the weekend.

As we gain confidence in our mod squad's coding changes we will start making them available to the community. Everything is going to be totally free to the owners of the Carenado CJ2.

And these modifications will work in FSX, FSX:SE, and P3Dv2-3.

It will take a little time to roll all our mods into a single package or maybe two packages. I am thinking we will have one package for the GTN crowd, another for the FMS users. Many of the clickspots and nifty popups will be in both packages.

Here is a short list (not totally complete just yet) of what will be in GTN v1.0:

-GTN AP that works when the NAV function is selected.

-PFD fonts resized for easier reading - more fonts, more colors.

-Instrument Reflections default automatically set to Off so the GTN can be used when in the Frame.

-TOGA logic improved, clickspots also now on AP Panel - 2d (popup) and VC

-GA Annunciation now shown on PFD Annunciator at top center.

-AP clickspots located on the PFD and GTN (formally MFD) frame, - 2d (popup)and VC

-Empty FMS screen now has "Flight Info Page" - 2d (popup) and VC (really handy, updated and upgraded from S550 mods)

-AP annunciation coding rewritten for improvemnts

-FLC logic improved (still not totally correct, but its all we can do until Caranado fixes their dll.)

-clickable Annunciation panel to switch the ENG display (Engine Instruments and Fuel Status and flap position indicator)

-ENG display popup (shift+2) with clickable 2nd page for additional info.

-Includes Karronicus’ Annunciation popup (for enlarged text for old and weak eyes)

-White Advisory Annunciation Lights fixed (Kabronicus code)

-Etched clickspot locators on PFD and GTN frames.

-New ALT knob added to DCP between Baro knob and REFS switch. Has night lighting and tooltips for 00 / 1000 adjustments (mouse clicks only)

-All clickspots on Frames will be available on popups (as soon as we figure out how to do it)

-New AP popup clickspot on MSP (right side) TOGO clickspot on MSP (left side)

-Tooltips for almost all the new clickspots and ALT knob, Active readout, i.e. HDG, CRS, VSI, IAS, etc.

These images were taken at various stages of production - posted now for drooling purposes only.

Why aren't you guys working for Carenado?

Flying is more fun than working.

When these mods are applied do they affect a single livery or all of them?

It depends on what you want to do.

If you overwrite your existing panel.cfg they will be for every add on with a reference in the aircraft.cfg with no specific reference to a named panel file. For instance panel= .

If you set up a panel folder with a name such as panel.GTNv2 or similar and put all these updates in that one, then in the aircraft.cfg file you can have a mix of default panels and these new GTNv2 panels by using the panel=GTNv2 or panel= .

I use the same add on with the same N number or repaint but with two or three different panel references. You just have to have a full entry [fltsim.x] for each one with a unique title and variation so you know which one to select for flying that day.

Easy Peasy.

Regards,

Ray
