So explain this for an FPS increase - then decrease

Recommended Posts

I'm getting pretty poor FPS in 3.2 versus 3.0 which made me set on a quest to see if I could tweak my way to better FPS.

First of all I added these:

[TERRAIN]
SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT=30
UseGlobalTerrainView=True

These two tweak effectively gave me 7 more FPS (same scenario, graphics, weather etc).

Then I added this:

[GRAPHICS]
SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=1

...which I know is only a command to delete shaders before starting the game. Strangely enough, when starting P3D I was back with minus 7 FPS.

I have tried removing this tweak etc, and even let my P3D,cfg rebuild to add the first two once more. Now when I add the first tweak, there's no increase in FPS. Can anyone explain this? Had deleting my previous shaders somehow robbed me of better FPS?  :Hmmmph:

Actually, it was just pausing giving med the extra FPS. Forgot to uncheck "pause on task switch". So the tweaks did nothing to my FPS.
