European IFR Charts

Recommended Posts

All,

I've learned to heavily rely on AirNav & Skyvector for all my US planning. But I'm interested in joining a European based VA and I'm not finding a similar online resource. I pay for monthly Navigraph updates but do not currently pay for their charts service.

What would be the best approach here? Free is always preferred but I have no problem paying for charts from a reliable source. Jepp is out of budget, though.

Thanks!

You can find a bunch of various countries charts through Euro Control - http://www.eurocontrol.int/articles/ais-online - with links to the official country sites. Sometimes the charts are a bit buried, but they're generally all there, free.

E.g. http://eaip.austrocontrol.at/lo/160401/Charts/LOWK/LO_AD_2_LOWK_24-1-1_en.pdf /  http://eaip.austrocontrol.at/lo/160401/ad_2.htm

You can also register to use the tool that shows all the charts in one page, click the link on that main page that says: "Free of charge access to AIP of EAD PAMS states is available on the European AIS Database public user website - EAD Basic (registration required)."

e.g.

Great tip, thanks. Have a look at SkyDemon as well, not free but affordable I'd say and very nice for EU flying. http://www.skydemon.aero

Excellent. Registered and have been browsing. Thanks for the great tip. They're absolutely all there (a little tricky to navigate) but it's all good. Thanks for the tip.

I'll check out Skydemon as well!
