Pauses with Rex 4 Texture Direct and Soft Textures

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I did a fresh install of P3Dv3 and installed some of my addons.(FTX Global, FTX Mesh, UTX Europe, My Traffic 6, and Rex 4 Direct Textures). When flying I noticed a short pause about every 5 or 6 seconds. I played with different settings thinking it might be that. Nothing worked so I uninstalled everything, reformatted the drive and then reinstalled each addon and checked to see when the pauses showed up. It turns out that after installing Rex 4 I started to get these pauses. Has anyone else encountered this or heard of it and do you know if there is a solution?

Hi Mike,

Since yesterday I also notice long pauses (like freezing) for few seconds, maybe more than 5 seconds everytime.

No CPU or GPU related, these pauses are really weird.

I also use REX but didn't think of it being the culprid.

I will revert to default textures and report.

Best regards,
David Roch

I have these pauses with Night Environment Germany and P3Dv3.2.3 and starts to believe that there could be some "bug" or just "to much" in P3DV3.2.3 . My GPU/CPU seems fine as well about 25-30% when it happens.

Turning down the shadow section is a long shot stated by others, but does not cure it on my system.

@Michael

You should disable every NE entry at daytime.

These are 3d lights and that is costing a lot performance.

Flying at daytime and have NE enabled will load it .

NE is for flying in the dark with autogen disabled. Tesselation Off. LOD at Min. Mesh at 38 or 76.All shadows Off. Clouds at Medium.AI traffic at Low ( or Off ).

Car traffic Off.

If you now can fly smooth you can add detail step by step : AI traffic / Car traffic..

Thanks Gerard ,

Yes i forgot to mention it was in "Dark state". I will try your other suggestions . When you say Tesselation off you dont meen the hardware accellerated option but only the slider right?

Thanks

Hi Michael,

Only Disable Hardware Tesselation in the menu ( that is not the slider ).  Settings - Graphics.

You need to restart P3D to enable the effect.
