Autogen distance loading problem

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've recently installed FSX:SE on a new computer which specs are:

Windows 10 Home

intel i5 5200U @2.2 GHz

Nvidia GeForce 840M (2GB)

8GB of RAM @ 798MHz

I'm having some issues with the autogen: they load up close to my aircraft, but when you look further away there are no autogen buildings or trees and the textures are quite blurry.

Here are some pictures to illustrate my problem:

These are my current FSX:SE settings:

does anyone have an idea of what I can do to make buildings and trees appear further from my aircraft?

Try maxing the sliders for Scenery Complexity and Autogen Density.  You can experiment with LOD_Radius in your

FSX.cfg.   Default setting is 4.5.  Try a larger number, but remember that it will affect FPS.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer, it's better now, I'll try  to play around with those values.

Many thanks!

With your specs it's not going to get much better. If you extend the LOD it will try to sharpen the ground textures father out, but with your computer specs I wouldn't recommend it. Also extending the LOD has no effect on the radius of the autogen being displayed.

2.2ghz is very low spec for FSX. You'd probably be happier with the performance you'd get out of FS9.

Post Edit:

Autogen is hard coded to around 6 miles from your aircraft since they removed the alpha fade in FSX, so extending the LOD radius won't increase the distance that it loads.

I believe in P3D they extended it, but with your computer I wouldn't even try P3D.

This is excellent advice and information.
