It's a freeware aircraft.  Download it, install it and try it.  Nothing to lose and you won't waste time waiting for a review!

You might also want to try the Citation X from here.   http://simviation.com//fsnd/Downloads.htm

Gulfstream hasn't licensed nor released any flight dynamics or internal flight control data for any of it's aircraft to be developed for simulation.  Therefore, I would not invest any time nor energy into any product that is illegally marking their products as "Gulfstream".  Just saying.

Thanks charliearon for the Citation X link, but after downloading the file I could not locate the Honeywell FMC gauge.  The creator refers to it in his fmc readme text, but I couldn't find it among the aircraft files.  Can someone point me to it?...Many thanks, in advance.

Thanks charliearon, for the guage.  I wonder if you know how to bring up the throttle quadrant in 2D, and if there is a way to enlarge the three display screens on the 2D captain's panel.  I've looked all over for some kind of operations manual, or readme text, and also visited the site given for Product Support, but could find no help.  Any suggestions you, or others, might have are most appreciated.  Thanks again.

Pretty much no and no!  There is no throttle quadrant to bring up as a popup panel.  You will only see it in the

VC.  Enlarging  the 3 panels in the Captain's panel?  Do you mean like clicking on them to make them bigger

like in the 737-800? No to that!  Also no room on the panel to physically make them bigger.

Am just curious but does an aircraft manufacturer actually have to give permission for an aircraft to be developed (payware or freeware) for the purpose of using it for entertainment in a flight simulator? Is it actually illegal for someone to develop a Gulfstream V for example and advertise it a Gulfstream V?

Hi Bill,

I believe some have - many don't... It's just Gulfstream sends its legal team after any infringements - with cease and desist letters... I would think most models are not officially authorized by the manufacturers...

It's not "illegal" in the sense that a specific law prohibits flight sim developers from emulating commercial aircraft. In Gulfstream's case, they would claim that their protected trademarks have been infringed -especially in the use of the name "Gulfstream".

They do seem to ignore freeware developers by and large, but would undoubtedly come after a payware developer who tried to market a highly realistic emulation of a GAC product for an entertainment simulation platform.

From what I have read on forums over the years, various FS developers have contacted GAC to see if the company would grant a license for that purpose, but the response has always been "no".

Gulfstream definitely does license the creation of cockpit and procedural simulation software to commercial training organizations like Flight Safety and CAE, but those systems are not available for sale to the general public.

Thanks for clarifying that guys! I cannot quite see why It should be an issue for them, but what a pity as the Gulfstream series are amongst my favourite biz jets. I guess I will just have to remain content at just seeing the AI versions fly around my FSX world!

Hi Bill,

Yeah - I used to like Gulfstream but their policy left a bad taste in my mouth - my next transcontinental business jet will be with anyone but Gulfstream...
