Back in love with X-Plane

Recommended Posts

After a while of flying in P3D (I got annoyed with a some payware X-Plane aircraft & their developers for lack of updates, bugs and general attitude to payware customers), I decided to fire up X-Plane today and try out the recent SkyMaxx upgrade and spend some time learning the 767.

How's that 767 feeling? I hear it's pretty great, a step up from the 757.

I predict X-Plane is going to grow steadily in the next months.

Beautiful shots by the way!

It's a sim of it's own class.

For casual VFR flying I do prefer it over MSFS and derivates.

For IFR, I still can't fin'd either in the GA or Airline domains anything close to the best we have for MSFS, unless we want to go with old equipment.

For flight dynamics, a well designed aircraft for X-plane 10 can be really special.

For helicopters we can't even compare both sim platforms and X-Plane 10 is clearly ahead.

Weather effects, not that much the visual component but rather the shear and turbulence effects are, overall, better modeld in X-plane 10.

Now we just need the iXEG 737, and any PMDG-like airliners.

For the GA we already have the Airfoillabs C172 ( Amazing aircraft!!! )

Excellent shots.  Am thinking of purchasing the 767, but was not impressed with the FF 757 or 777.

Nice shots. X-Plane looks great! It seems to me there has been a meeting of sims visually recently; with XP and P3D anyway. Areas that were weak in both sims, now seem to be coming together to some degree.

Sometimes, unless stated, I'm hard pressed to tell which sim is which.
