XMLTools 2.0 installer not finding XML.DLL

Recommended Posts

Guest mickhead23

Greetings:

I'm finding the Learjet 35A is a fun model to fly. During installation I noticed the XML Tools utility did not find a critical file:

FSX found on this machine!!
XMLTools.dll successfully installed in FSX's main folder !!
DLL.XML not found !!
====================
-Cannot find the file for this User. A manual search and update is recommended.

Does anyone know how to perform a manual search? dll.xml on this system in the usual appdata/roaming/microsoft/fsx. FSX is installed into c:\FSX.

I'm thinking this problem is related to the fact that the load buttons on my copy of the payload manager do not work, and some fuel values appear to be missing.

Kind regards.
Mick

Weird that it finds FSX, but no dll.xml file.

As you said, dll.xml is supposed to live in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

If you have a dll.xml file there, you need to add the following lines:

  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>XMLTools</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>XMLTools.dll</Path>
    <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
    <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
  </Launch.Addon>

Then everything should work.

Thank you. Manually adding the entry to the file worked. It now loads and the payload manager functions as it should. I do not know why the installer failed since dll.xml is in the correct path. Oh well.
