What is best - OPUS or ASN?

Recommended Posts

I would have to say Active Sky Next. The biggest thing about ASN is that it has accurate cloud placement. This would mean that it would say at a specific GPS coordinate, there is a cloud of this type and weather it is producing precipitation or not. This is why PMDG is finally able to develop an accurate weather radar for FSX and P3D. ASN also has turbulence, windshear, and microbursts modeled which also has never been done before. The thing about ASN is that you'll need third party textures, or you are going to have to put up with the default textures in FSX/P3D.

Not only is this thread two years old now there is also the fact that there have been multiple new versions of opus fsi that have included most of the features you are mentioning. The radar is also in development. Turbulence and wind shear have been present for a long time now.

I use ASN with very high satisfaction, don''t own OPUS, but have a little question for users: is it possible to run it only using cameras not for weather engine? I own EZCA but has not native installer for Prepar3D 2.0

I think you need to get the latest version, which has a triple installer.

Necropost.  Split from a topic over two years old.
