moving on up... to bigger hard drive

Quick question went out and bought 500g ssd and my prepar3d sim using 250g ssd  can i just copy over to new bigger drive and reassociate the ssd to drive letter used by my system originally?

 

Thanks  so trying to avoid reinstall

That should work. For example, if the 250GB drive is E:, and the new 500GB drive shows up as F:, just copy everything over from E: to F: and then change the letters around using Disk Management.

 

If the 250GB SSD is also your boot drive (C: ), the above won't work and you'll have to use clone/imaging software.

Thanks. That sounds wonderful. Prepared on its own drive. Actually spread over two other drivers... Let's just say not your father's flight sim any more
