Favorite Small XP Airports

Recommended Posts

I'd like to populate my sim with some nice strips. I have Mountain Air - 2NCO, Marc's West Point (KFYJ,) and the excellent Spadaro 1N2.

I want more!

Thanks.

Have a look at my travel guides for the USA, which were published as PDF extension to FS MAGAZIN 3/2015 and 4/2015. In addition to big destinations, they also include some examples of small airports:

The West Coast: http://www.fsmagazin.de/download/FSM3_2015Plusartikel.pdf

The East Coast: http://www.fsmagazin.de/download/FSM4_2015Plusartikel.pdf

It's a big download, and language of the texts is German, but the screenshots speak for themselves, and you can click the links to the sceneries.

PAJN by MisterX6 is really, really good. All of the ones they've done are excellent, but some of them are a bit big, and I lean towards GA. Juneau makes for a nice place to take a relaxing sight seeing tour, and is also great for flying helicopters - one of the things I like to do is to take a helicopter excursion from the airport up to the nearby glacier.

Or, you can take a couple of hours and fly from PAJN into another top notch strip - CZST by beti-x. It's near perfect in terms of detail, really nicely modeled.  Payware though, as opposed to PAJN, which is freeware.

Interestingly enough, I own both strips in FSX/P3D as done by Orbx, but I prefer the XP versions a bit more.  I think it has to do with the fact that mountain flying is just so much better in X-Plane!
