Camera options in 2D mode.

Recommended Posts

I have the 2D MIP dragged to a second monitor and I the main screen dedicated to the outside view only. The problem I have now is having to right click to select overhead-pedestal etc and also the VC to view the TQ.

Can Opus assist me in dedicating keyboard strokes to bring up these panels quickly?

Two options ... Do the above and use the assigned button/keys to switch views on the main display, or create Windowed Views for your panels (see LC manual for details).

I've just realised that in 2D cockpit for outside view, I do not get any DHM at all. There is also a loss of spatial audio too. This is the PMDG 737 NGX.

Would it be better to fly in the VC instead and somehow hide the majority of the cockpit so that I still get a reference for the head movement? Problem is AFAIK the only way around that is to zoom in to an unrealistic level.

Any ideas?

The normal DHM would never work in 2D cockpit mode as you would not be aware of any head movement. The 2D panel does not allow that sort of sensitivity. OpusFSI does provide a simulated DHM restricted to varying the rotational coordinates (all translational movements serve no purpose and cannot be seen). The simulated DHM is intended for transparent cockpits giving scenic only views.

So yes, if you want to see full DHM effects a VC mode would be much better as 2D panels cannot be moved at all. Use 2D views only for 'out of the cockpit' scenic views, no panel visible.
