From 32 Monitor 4K to 65 TV 4K Display Port requirement?

Recommended Posts

Was just wondering if I should be buying a TV with a display port, just as my monitor has. It seems that all the cheaper ones do not have display port as an input option.

Hi there Slip-stream,

I too am looking for either a 4K monitor or TV to use with FSX. From what I have found out about "Display Ports" connectors, they are able to pass larger amounts of data vs the standard 1.4 HDMI. That means that TV/monitors without a display port will only be able to run at 30 Hz i@ 4K.  If normal 2K HD they can do the 60 Hz OK. But that is not what we want, right? Need all that extra band width for the 4K signal.

Good news for the HDMI people. They do have a new 2.0 connector that will be able to do 60 Hz but not that many out there yet.  For now best to go the display port route to insure you get the 60 Hz 4K data. The following link will help explain this even more.

Also note, make sure your video card has a display port connection. Most high end cards have multiple connections for display port, hdmi , etc.

This site will not let me cut and paste text anymore,,why? Was trying to past model number but no luck. I think any of the Samsung 65 inch curved TV's will work at Nvidia settings of 60 hz and 444 color.

I've just pasted your comment above. Not sure what you're talking about.
