Anyone comment on how effective the RealismShaderPack pop-corn cloud fix is?

Well ... it doesn't do much for me (on my system). I dumped the REX (and/or Soft Clouds) textures in favour of my old FEX clouds - which helped - but RSP doesn't seem to affect them much (if at all).

I think the problem with popcorn clouds (which I LOATHE) isn't so much with shading/palette but rather more to do with the *maths*. The sizes/distribution simply aren't random enough, IMHO.

These horrific clouds (usually in the "scattered" weather scenarios) - coupled with the oily/black water palette are a huge step backwards for P3D. FSX does all that much better.

Hi, Adam! Yes, this "no-popcorn" tweak just slightly average light intensity and alpha of clouds at far distance. No magic pill for sizes/distribution algorithm.

With default clouds textures it works like this:

I still have to work on set brighter my cockpit. So far, it looks like too dark for my taste :

Just a silly question : on each of the tab (Terrain&Shadows, Autogen, Clouds, HDR) should I press INSTALL on each of them or the INSTALL button has an effect on each tab ?

For all who has dark cockpit, change HDR setting in P3D options. Make more than 1 for your taste. Just change and stop when you like it. I had that problem too but not anymore

You mean increasing the Brigtness cursor of the HDR settings, right ? My last (few) test increase the brightness inside the cockpit but white area seems to be burned. Will test it again. Thanks for the reminder.

Little bit more detail? Nothing happens when you click on install shader, or you didn't saw any difference in the sim, or..? :)

when I click install nothing is happening , and no level change P3D v3.2

That's a problem of the utility GUI. After creating a backup for terrain shader, all other options are listed as backed too. But that isn't the case. You need to use the backup button for all four shaders seperately.

Thats what I did, clicked right after installing the tool on all possible backup tabs, still it tells me that the backup files can not be found. I also use W10 by the way, might really be an issue with this OS?

So i spent a few hours messing with sliders and came up with something i have truly never seen before in P3d, this is almost a vanilla install with the exception of Rex Dx11 sun mod and Orbx SCA,

Thank you Pe11e for your witchcraft.

Believe me, I did exactly as suggested. First, I deleted the shader folder, then I installed the tool. After this, I clicked on all four backup Tabs and it showed correctly the backup date. However, I got two dates in the Dropdown menue. Then, I installed the shaders and it worked. Afterwards, I changed the terrain from low to high, to increase the brightness. After this change, P3D refuses to work. When I want to backup, the tool tells me, that the backup file is not found, no matter if I select the first or the second backup date in the Dropdown menue...
