FSX constant CTDs

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a fresh new install of FSX Deluxe edition patched to Acceleration on a brand new system with a dedicated drive.

After the full install, I was able to fly a few missions and other flights with no major problems but now that I have installed FSUIPC version 4.9.4.9, my simulator crashes to desktop every time.

Anyway to tell if this is caused by FSUIPC?

Here are 2 different entries from my event viewer. Both crashes happened within 10 min of each other.

I run Win 10, Intel Core i7-5930K at 3.5 GHz, Dual Nvidia GTX 970, Toshiba SATA 1.81 Tb

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you

Faulting module name: uiautomationcore.dll, version: 7.2.10586.212, time stamp: 0x56fa2107

Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\uiautomationcore.dll

The uiautomationcore.dll in your System32 folder caused the crash.  Did you put a version in the main FSX folder?  If not, recommend you do.  See the AVSIM CTD Guide, page 7, for the only two versions that can possibly be placed in your main fsx folder (see link to the AVSIM CTD Guide in my signature).  The Guide has links to the locations where you can download the version you want.

If you do have a version in your FSX folder, remove it by moving it to a temporary folder.

ADDED:  I would also run the System File Checker to look for and fix corrupted or missing files - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

Hi Jim,

I ran the SFC, nothing found so I downloaded the uiautomationcore.dll and that seems to have fixed the whole problem.

I just completed a 49 mn flight with no issues, it was super smooth.

Thank you for your help and precious time.
