Disable default axis/button assignments

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I use FSUIPC to assign all (well, almost all) axis and buttons.
Therefor I manually deleted most assignments using the settings/controls interface in P3D.
That works nicely, however sometimes (experienced it twice now) for some reason P3D decided to re-enable all default axis/button/key assignments

Is there a way to prevent this?
In FS9 one had to remove all entries in the controls.cfg if I recall correctly.
Can this also be done for P3D?

Happens when FS or P3D thinks it's a newly connected device. Maybe it was slow waking up when P3D loaded, maybe it got disconnected, maybe there was a glitch or a driver update. It always happened with FS as well. It's the "helpful" automatic assignment.

Safest way is to simply disable controllers in P3D. You never need to remove any assignments.

What is it you still think you need controllers enabled in 3D for?

Hi Pete,

I'm simming now for about 30 years and still I'm learning

I knew that FS/P3D would re-apply the controls/button/key assignments if it 'thinks' that new controls are added.

Normally in FS9 I would empty devices.cfg (or something) to prevent this, but in P3D it works differently

However what I never knew is that it simply can be solved by disabling the controllers.

I thought they needed to be enabled allways, even when using FSUIPC.

Take care,

Egbert
