The C182 in PNG : the third leg of the day

Recommended Posts

The story goes on. Here I am in Woitape, ready to go, to fly to Tapini, a rather "interesting" approach again  (I mean if you don't mind a little scare !)

The whole flight with the landing in Tapini is here

Impressive bush flying. Makes you wonder who decided the actual location of some of these airstrips, and what were they flying? :)

Thanks

It seems that almost any highlands village has its own strip !

They fly DH6 Twin Otter, C206, Pilatus Porter, that kind of planes. The A2A C182 is not out of place, a robust and powerful aircraft.

What make flying there interesting is, of course, the terrain but also the climate, hot and humid.

The Worst Place To Be A Pilot YouTube videos. are quite impressive.
