GTN750 Mod FIX for TBM850 version 2 update

Recommended Posts

Finally solve the error !!!!

Modify the panel.cfg file a bit, but that was not decisive.

The only thing to do is to remove the "xxx" from file G1000_PFDTBMVC.spb, this was done when the GTN 750 was installed for v1. Bert Mod "In the new folder, rename three files by adding xxx to their names: G1000_PFDTBMVC.spb,".

With this change is solved !! In few words leave this original file

This is my Panel.cfg

Hello all,

Mr. Pieké and I communicated on the issue, and both suspected a file mismatch issue with his original mod, and a later (updated) version of the TBMv2.

The mismatch is with a file other than the panel.cfg, so it does not need to be changed.

Mr. Pieké has updated the installation of his mod, and removed all the extraneous files (eliminating the mismatch), and creating a simpler installation process as well.

He will now be distributing the new install version of the mod, along with my v2 fix, in a single package.

He has also given me permission to distribute the new full install package, with the v2 fix, to anyone who requests it.

I will be sending out the full package to everyone who previously requested the v2 fix, but it may take some time, as it is the holidays, and I am busy with both work and visiting family.

I will get the new version out to current users as soon as possible, and will be sending the new version for all future requests.

Happy Holidays,

Captain Z

EDIT:

I've decided I want to get a few flights in, to make sure all is well, before sending out the new mod to current v2 fix users, as it is a rather large number of people.

I will still send it out immediately to anyone who requests it.

Mine all seems fine now since the latest flight, Did a flight from and landed in Low Vis ILS all the way down to minimums.

The only issue i now have is that i don't think the auto fuel tanker selector is working,

Do others have this issue?

Cheers Neil M.

I tested the auto fuel select switch, and whether it was switched on or off was properly displayed in the PFD.

So it appears to work fine, for me, at least.

Yes i think it was me putting  BP AUX in OFF instead of auto, that may have made a difference.

I have it working now.

Switching every 1m 15s on the ground and 10m in the air.

Thanks

Thanks Captain for sending me the v2 update of Bert's mod.  After installing, everything worked fine except that there is a black blank space on the left side of the GTN 750 panel display.  Initially the buttons were not responding, but now, all of a sudden, they started working and seem to be fully functional.  I can bring up the "floating" GTN 750 by using Shift + 2 and that display is as it should be.  So in summary, the main GTN 750 display has a black blank space from top to bottom on the left side of the screen.  I think it must have to do with the delineation of the pixel specs in the panel.cfg, but I don't know which line I would need to change to correct this.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken Jones

Hi Ken,

Sorry for the late response. I have been on vacation to attend my sons wedding.

Usually, the problem you describe is because the avionics switch on the overhead panel is set to "Start" instead of "On".

It's a 3 position switch, so make sure it's flipped up as high as it will go. I believe this will fix the problem.

I have also noticed, since arriving home, that my PM box is 100% full. I will do some quick cleanup so people can PM me again.

Ken, I will also be responding to your PM question. It should also be an easy fix.

Happy Flying,

Captain Z

With the release of the TBM 850 version 2 update, some problems were created for the integration of Bert Pieke's GTN 750 mod.

The biggest problem is not being able to use the autopilot panel in the VC, which means you lose the ability to set heading, altitude, etc.....

As I absolutely love the GTN 750 mod, and didn't want to fly the TBM 850 without it, I created an update to fix the compatibility issue.

I contacted Mr. Pieke, and he gave me his permission to distribute the fix/update to anyone who wants to use his GTN750 mod with the new Version 2 TBM850.

NOTE: This is only an update for the GTN750 mod. If you don't have the original GTN750 mod for the TBM850, you need to contact Bert Pieke through PM to get it.

The update enables you to use the autopilot panel in the VC again (as much as Carenado's autopilot works, anyways), and also adds compatibility with the updated shift+# pop-up windows.

If you would like the update, please send me a PM with your email, and I will send you the update as soon as I can.

I would very much like to try your update as a last ditch effort to not scrap this plane for salvage (haha)

Like You, I'm not interested in flying it without the GTN 750 Mod. Today I checked my files  Panel.cfg etc for all the right things. Loaded up aircraft with procedure list on lap. first the integrated 750 had no Audio. I could window it and it was fine  ??? More importantly the gremlins AKA demons in the autopilot sap all the fun from flying it. It seems to have a mind of its own....a devious destructive one ..  Flying along level at FL280 and I touched the "Flaps up - 850 HP" mode and the A/P goes nuts. It takes 5K' to get a handle on it. then I touch the SPEED set. again it goes berserk.  I'll be thankful if your MOD makes this 1/4 of the aircraft the Duke Turbine is. Thanks   mikebxb@gmail.com

Hi madhouse1616 (and anyone else looking at this thread),

Sorry for the full inbox. Due to life and circumstances, I have actually been out of the Sim world for about a year. I am just recently getting back (finally).

I will need to go through and clean out my inbox. However, it won't affect you.

Since I've been gone, P3Dv4 was released. Since all of Carenado's aircraft were redone for it, Bert redid all of his mods.

As such, all of Bert's mods currently don't need any fixes to work.

So just send him a message requesting the mod you want, and he will send it to you.

I've personally tested (in P3Dv4) his latest mods for the TBM, Phenom, and Hawker.....and they have all worked fine for me.

Happy Flying,

Captain Z
