A secured module cannot be activated! Help please, cannot install the add-ons

Recommended Posts

Dear PMDG fans and developers,

I have strange issue on my newly build Intel i7 6700K PC.

I cannot install the DVD-ROM with either the MD-11 (FSX) or the 747 (FSX) Queen of the Skies. I get a useless error 'A secured module cannot be activated' which terminates the installation.

Newer DVD-ROMS install just fine, like the PMDG 737 for example or the JS4100.

This problem persists with the older DVD's installations.

I thought it was software emulator but removing it did not help. This problem sickens me.

Can someone help me please?

Thanks!

Peter

Anyone?

EDIT:

To anyone who has the same problem as me;

Update your motherboard drivers and do a bios update. It solved the problem! I guess it has to do with compatibility issues with new hardware!

Hi Peter,

Glad you fixed it. You did not mention in your post what Windows version you were using for the new build? Win 10?

Hi Geoff,

Sorry I did not mention my Windows version. It is windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

But I found on the web that new hardware were often named to be the culprit.

I am not sure if this problem would occur in Windows 10. But as I mentioned earlier that the bios update solved the problem, I am pretty sure it could happen with any of the newer Windows versions from 7 up to 10!

Many of us forget about updating the Bios. I guess, because a little(lot) scary to change, so try other things
