BBC highlight's Microsoft Win10 'dirty tricks'

Recommended Posts

Saw this story today, and I remember reading something a few months back about it becoming a "recommended" update. I used this GWX removal tool to stop the nagging http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/GWX-Stopper.shtml, glad I did now!

Funny really, my colleague mentioned today how his home laptop was pestering about updates so he clicked restart and when it came back it on it was Windows 10!

Desperation really.

Clicking the red cross on the right hand corner of the pop-up box now activates the upgrade instead of closing the box.

And this has caused confusion as typically clicking a red cross closes a pop-up notification

If any other software did this it would be classified as malware
