The DC-6 does not require any plug ins. It's all in-house development.

  • I knew that was a clue!!

Due to Patent Trolling...completely different (skip to 1:35):     Yes, that's John Oliver mocking the ridiculous state of affairs of patent abuse, using the claim on X-Plane as the example.

Nope. The DC-6A and DC-6B are in a single package.

Hi,

There will be a quiz later, we expect you to know what every single breaker does, where it is located (by feel, in the dark) and how many amps you save by throwing it to the OFF position... You have a week, get studying!

I already fear the worst for the upcoming examination : www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY1_HrhwaXU !

(For those interested in other platforms: We don't have any platform conversion ETAs available at this time... We will let you know once we have spent some time on the conversion and thus have some estimates...)

Thanks for mentioning the other platforms, Robert, I have no problem to wait patiently until some Linux port happens.

Cheers,

"Want to fly her?

Release for X-Plane will take place on June 1, 2016... "

And who said PMDG never gives release dates?😄

Thanks Robert! UPS has just delivered a case of 144 spare spark plugs, as I'll probably have to change them all in the process of learning to manage those four Pratt Double Wasps.... The hangar is ready!

As the PMDG DC-6 has been coming for so long (first announced a few years ago if I am correct), I have to admit that I gave up following this one on the forums a long time ago! My attention was only brought back to it again by a mention of its impending release on Air Daily X today.

Still, I am glad to know that there is a plan to make it available for other platforms, which I hope will include FSX. I will now go back into hibernation until then! 😉

This is great news.

I pointed to a free donwload for a C-118 manual here <MOD REMOVED REFERENCE TO COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL>

The scans aren't perfect, especially in the charts sections, but it does the job until we get the official documentation.

Thanks very much, I'll take a look

Looks fantastic! Almost makes me wish I was an X-plane user. I will definitely get it day 1 for FSX when that transition happens though.

Here's some info about our study aircraft:

Some lovely shots here...a good friend is currently working in Namibia for ICAO, re-building the entire airspace, and he works closely with one of the (former) DC-6 pilots....sadly, the old bird doesnt fly anymore but he has been promised a tour of the grand old lady very soon.

Will the DC-6 installation be part of the operations centre? To handle updates and things like that?

One of the more interesting features is that we implemented a "head shake" to replace the seat of the pants sensation you would get in certain instances, such as leaving your cowl flaps set too far open in high speed flight.  If you do this in the real airplane, you get a very ominous, low frequency rumble and vibration through the airframe

If you have a Buttkicker installed, you'll be able to feel ithe vibration as well - assuming that the low frequency rumble is replicated. A real seat of the pants sensation.

I suspect i already know the answer but i'll ask anyway.

I will probably buy this aircraft for X-Plane, but i don't use that sim as much as P3D, purchasing it for X-Plane is a risk for me, in so far as i may never really use it.  So my question, is there any chance of getting a discount on the P3D version if one purchases for X-Plane?

Thanks
