X-Plane and a GTX 1080

Recommended Posts

Seen a few threads in regards to FSX & P3D, but I'm wondering has anyone taken the plunge yet? I have a 980ti and don't feel the need to rush and swap it out.

Unless you're GPU limited or just want to turn up settings like AA or texture resolution there really is no need. Personally I would get it just for the extra VRAM but I will probably wait for the Ti version.

I'm considering replacing my 980 with 1080 because i hit VRAM limit too often.

Would love to see some reports about 1080 with X-Plane.

Radek

Wondering about a 1070 being cheaper, and faster than a Titan X?

I wish Ben could shift the car settings to the GPU or give the option, may reduce the fps hit with newer GPU technologies.

I think you mean you have 5 coming, since you are sending one my way...  :Tounge:

I havent tested my 1080 in X-Plane yet as I am still pondering on taking the plunge, but I would expect it to have a good result.

Let me guess.... you want 64bit.

I am interested to see the results of Cameron's test being as I have a 980ti 6gb now.  I do not think it will be enough of a performance increase to justify a purchase, but I could be wrong.

Must be nice to be able to get six 1080's when every place I check is "sold out" with no estimate on availability.
