The interior.mdl has a new date. The install screen shows still 1.1.

The air files, the aircraft.cfg are still the same. No changes to sound or textures seen.

The exe files to change the panel are new.

I don't know. Seems like they worked on the 3rd party gauge integration only. She handles still the same I think. I wonder why they never inform customers about updates, or do I miss something? Usually the updates were shown behind the activation key. Now they silently updated to 1.1 and 1.2, but that seems to me rather 1.01 and 1.02.

They also changed AC500S_interior.MDL and the gauges files.

Good you mentioned it. Since I do not uninstall, just renamed the last install, the gauges were not updated. Usually install programs just overwrite but this not it seems.

You should uninstall, as always suggested by Carenado at any new patch release.

Now, if you added additional repaints, those are not uninstalled and will remain in the original folder. All you have to do (and I strongly recommend everyone to do so, as it is an essential tool for simmers) is using a Synchonization tool like Beyond compare or similar (there are lots which are freeware). Just compare the backup copy (i.e. on your external hard disk) to new aircraft folder after reinstalling the new patch and adjust the entries in the aircraft.cfg as needed. It is a breeze when you learn how to do it.

Thanks for the hints. Indeed, usually I just copy over with other companies products. The additional textures I keep in a separate file within the folder and quickly copy and paste it. It's only Carenado installers, who do not overwrite old files and therefore need an uninstall first.

I've held back so far because of the autopilot issues - has 1.2 addressed any of those?

Or is the current autopilot basically usable, even if a bit quirky?

It also says for P3D 2.5/3, I'm using 3.1, does 3 mean 3.1/3.2 or just 3?

Thanks

Eugene

Can't help you, as I do not use autopilot in the AC 500S.

It is a such a pleasure to fly it in manual. I must have no less than 30 hours on it since its launch and I can't recall any single time I used AP.

I hope Bert, which is the guru in this field, will chime in soon to enlighten you.

I use it on P3D 3.2 and it seems to work fine. The autopilot is basically usable. The ROLL switch has a wrong hint, saying "Autopilot Master Switch". The main switch is left of it, but the ROLL needs to be set to on too. Then heading and altitude or pitch is working. The heading bug can be set on the Nav instrument.

Love the AC500S, just noticed there is a v1.2, wondering what changes were made from 1.1.
Thanks - Martin

Greetings,

The only difference is that the autopilot has a minor bug fixes.

Regards,
Carenado.

I just wonder, why they didn't fix the wrong hint and why this needs a new interior.mdl?

 Thanks Guys,

Autopilot seems useable, at least in basic modes, which was pretty much how things were in those days, have just purchased.

I have not yet seen the contents of this update, but the Hint is actually correct.. the Roll switch is also the autopilot master switch.

Please check one thing for me:

Turn on the autopilot, to Heading mode.

Select NAV on the rotary coupler switch.

Does the Heading switch stay in (as it should), or does it pop out?

Bert
