Transponder Mode Selector doesn't work in XIVAP

Recommended Posts

First thanks for this amazing Plane.

But if i switch the Transponder to ON or ALT nothing changes in XIVAP and  i'm not visible in IVAO with mode C.

So I can't fly online and must bring it back to Hangar until this is fixed.

I'm not sure that this is something we need to do on our end. This function works in XSquawkbox, as an example.

Hello Tornsten:

If XIVAP works the same as IvAp for FSX, you can set the transponder from the IvAp box itself.

I have always had to set the transponder to Mode "C" via IvAp with PMDG aircraft.

As Kyle mentions above, for some reason the transponder works on the VATSIM network.

Sir in XIVAP what not is XSquawkbox i can also not Change the Transpondermode

and the Dataref for Transpondermode set back al time to Zero.

Flightfactor has made a Mode called custom Radio to get it to work.

All other Aircraft set the Mode if i change the Transpondermode in Aircraft.

So the one and only Aircraft i can't fly online is the DC6.

Roberto XIVAP doesn't work like an FSX-Addon and you can't Change the Mode with an Click.

The  DATAREF sim/cockpit2/radios/transponder_mode

never Change and if i set it to 1 or 2 it fall back immediatly to 0

Which leads me to believe that they're not looking properly at the XPL transponder dataref. We're sending our data through the default dataref, to my knowledge.

The thing is in my observation: the X-Palne dataref only changes when both the left and the right (captain and FO side) transponder modes in the DC-6 are set to at least SBY mode: thereafter manipulating the left transponder mode selector will succefully change the dataref to ON/ALT. When starting from cold and dark and rotating only the left transponder selector manipulator, the dataref is stuck to "off".

I had a problem with this on Vatsim. Managed to solve this by setting the left-side Transponder  to ON after the takeoff checklist is completed. The AFE set it to ALT mode and perhaps that is normal procedure.

Using the AFE entirely will solve this issue as he'll set both to ALT. It's only when one isn't set to ON/ALT that it shows standby. This has been reported back to the team. Both the mode and code should be chosen by the XPDR selector (bottom left of the capt side panel). If it's on CAPT, only CAPT should matter and report mode and code.

EDIT: Full names in the forum, please - first and last.
