ShellExperienceHost.exe

This error (the first and second event in your OP) has nothing to do with P3D or any P3D addon.  Appears Microsoft might have installed an update and it is not working properly - http://mspoweruser.com/windows-10-mobile-build-10586-306-now-tested-internally/.  I have no idea how to fix this issue.  Maybe you can uninstall it?  It's a Microsoft Windows issue in any case.  I would do a Google search for ShellExperienceHost as hundreds of thousands of users have suffered the same error.

The 3rd Event indicates you got a CTD with the API.dll as the faulting module.  You had an 8 hour flight on a Laptop?  The AVSIM CTD Guide (see link in my signature), page 29 states the following:

API.dll – Indicates you are close to running out of memory (OOM).

  •  Lower LOD_Radius (if above 4.5) and/or Texture_Max_Load (if above 1024). This is a temporary fix just to investigate the cause.
  •  Check Buffer Pools parameter in config and disable (fix for many). AVSIM does not recommend this parameter for P3D.
  •  AffinityMask tweak has wrong parameters for your computer.
  •  Return to default configurations as recommended in How to Fix Most Crashes above (see page 10 of the CTD Guide).

I am personally getting the API.dll every time I attempt to use the Eaglesoft CitationX.  It doesn't like the latest fsuipc for P3D and the latest navdata from Navigraph for the sim.  If I disable the fsuipc, I can use the navdata and use the flight plan from KLAS to KLAX.  Enable fsuipc and the sim crashes on takeoff.  I have probably had around 50 CTD's with the API.dll as the faulting module in the past 3 weeks.  It cannot be fixed so I disable the fsuipc when using the CitationX.

The API.dll (Application Programming Interface) manages the interfaces between Windows, your application (P3D) and add-ons.  Pretty cool stuff...  If it sees a problem, it shuts down the application (not cool).  Since you had an 8-hour flight on a laptop, I suspect you ran out of VAS especially if you were in the process of landing at an airport or into scenery with a lot of eye-candy.  Do not know of any solution other than to lower your settings and dump any tweaks you might have employed and monitor VAS as shown in the AVSIM CTD Guide.  That way you will know for sure it was the depletion of VAS.

If you have any add-ons installed using the EMT tool to install the product, that could be the problem too.  Many add-ons to P3D are not fully compatible and cause memory leaks and excessive use of system resources.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

I missed the line in the Event Viewer showing you have a Desktop.  Apologize for missing that but I did a search for the version of the ShellExperienceHost you have and it stated it was for mobile users - http://mspoweruser.com/windows-10-mobile-build-10586-306-now-tested-internally/

Thinking Pete needs to look at his latest version as I had some crashes after 20 min of flying default 300 around and ctd bible points to FSUIPC - G3D.dll on P3D V3.3 - lets see how V 3.4 shakes out

Hang in there Rich!  The FSUIPC use to trap g3d.dll errors but I don't see it in the log anymore.  The g3d crash is probably the most infamous CTD ever in the history of FSX and any software games.  If you have any EMT products installed, I would disable them and see if that fixes the problem.

Best regards,

Yes I did that Jim - only used it to install UT2 both dumped but going to wait for 3.4 thinking 3.3 is not forgiving - meaning any non native stuff will mess it up and not going to do a fresh install until 3.4 then I will do a fresh install of 3.4 for obvious reasons - thank you Jim

Try without it cant hurt - if all seems good go for it

There is a known memory leak with navdata at some airports with the pmdg 777. It has to do with the missed approach procedure for certain runways. VHHH is one of the worst offenders. There is a long thread about it in the PMDG 777 forum. Right around the 8hr mark you will run out of VAS if you have preselected that offending runway at your destination airport. This was reported last year to PMDG and as of today, no fix yet.
