Does the Pro Clip add much to the TrackIR?

In fact it takes away from the experience.

 

On caveat! I don't have any direct sunlight and I have complete control over lighting.

I was going to get the Pro Clip but it has a chord and I have a wireless headset so no go.  I find the clip on a baseball hat works just fine.

Look at the TrackHat Clip Plus to remain wireless. A bit larger and slightly heavier than the Pro Clip but also very solid. Works great for me. (http://www.trackhat.org/#!trackhat-clip-plus/cvhw).

I needed the Pro-Clip as like one of the previous posters mentioned room light/background light can affect TrackIr. The reflective bracket was too erratic and not smooth when I used it. I purchased the ProHat last year as I kept breaking the proclip as it's pretty fragile at the joints.

I bought it and used it long enough to regret my purchase. It has too many wires and is too fragile. In less than a month I had to use epoxy/weld to fix part of the view thingy.  Before that I had the standard TrackIR and it was ok but did not work well on a 44 inch screen (no good place to mount camera)

Finally gave  up on TrackIR and have used EZdok or OPUS ever since. Both are quite good enough for me..

As an owner of both, I have to say, that the Pro clip works much better when it's quite bright (daylight) in the room. Other than that, I can't tell any difference between the two systems.

I've had no issues with the A50 at all. I've had it 6 months ( Was a Christmas gift ). I've never had the battery go dead but thats probably because I charge it frequently. I have used it for 3 or 4 hours without a problem.  As for the Track clip pro I get about 4 hours battery life. The manufacture claims it will last 10+ hours but I have never gotten more then 4 - 4.5 hours. I charge it between flights. Most of my flights are under 2 hours so its not an issue for me. On longer flights I turn off the clip anyway and just use it during take off and landing.
