CS C-130...new dog, old tricks?

Wonder if someone could do a quick test for me.One of my beefs with the CS 727 was that the gauge programmers wrote the fuel flow gauges to "lie" and display fuel flow that more or less reflected the correct charted data, since their horrible FDE was nowhere near correct. Of course the problem was that the actual amount of fuel being consumed varied by a large margin from the reported fuel flow, making any fuel planning exercise next to impossible.So, now that the CS C-130 has been out a few days, I wonder if we'll find this new dog is up to CS' old tricks...Wonder if someone wants to run Herve Sors' AFSD utility, or just set the fuel flows to a nice even 1000 lbs per hour and see how much fuel really gets burned in the course of an hour. Hican't answer this yet but noticed the following: Due to wrong configuration of the electrical systems (my fault) i did a flight with all fuel gauges showing zero content and quite a lot instuments didn't worked (as expected). The funny thing: I started with 100% fuel and flew about 2 hours. After landing i still had 100% fuel in my tanks. So i burned exactly zero fuel.That leads to the conclusion: As long as the fuel gauges are not working you burn no fuel. Seems this time fuel is moved out of the tanks by gauges and not by FDE fuel burn. That makes me hope that fuel burn matches the charts this time.best regardsjan schreiber

Bob,Great thinking! I downloaded version 2.44 of AFSD and ran it for about 30 minutes in level flight. I was burning out of the externals and AFDS said that I had burned right at 2000 lbs in 30 minutes. Just did a quick test. With the 4 engines running at approximatelly 1000 pph for 15 mins and burned 957 pounds. So it seems correct for a short test.

I never used AFSD before, but if you mean the Fuel Manager readings, i set the throtles for a indicated fuel flow of +- 1000 pph per engine and i was getting a reading of +- 4000 fuel burn, so it apears to be ok.Jorge
