New Rex SkyForce 3D - The ASN Killer?

Recommended Posts

I just hope that the FPS impact is not dramatic.

That's no lie. Looks pretty intense - but awesome (sometimes that word just fits)

No weather seems to duplicate the darkness of a thunderstorm. :(

Well I'm not going to complain, drip, whine or moan about a product that's not even out yet.

I think it looks great.

If Rex can marry their textures and inject full weather systems into P3D then it'll be a certain buy for me.

Well done Rex.

Honestly I don't think it will be a weather engine like ASN, looks more like a more advanced Texture Replacement set than REX 4 and REX Soft Clouds.

It'll be interesting to see whether maybe Sky Force 3D will be a competitor for Hi-Fi's new product which will be announced at FlightSimCon too.

Aren't these competing products? Hi-fi now looks like it has an upcoming suite that matches Rex's product line exactly.

I think they've always been competing but it had become a known quality that Active Sky had the best weather engine but lacked good textures, and REX had great textures but the weather engine was not very good.

So REX went to work on fixing the weather engine and producing other things that produced weather like Architect.

I'm guessing Hifi has been working on enhancing their textures for implementation.

Guess this is great for us flight simmers but we'll lead to the inevitable "Which one is better" arguments. Ugh can't wait for those to get locked within 20 min. lol.

It all looks really good and, yeah, I like it.  But, at the end of the day, I wonder if any of it will give us thick clouds and full overcast.

It definitely looks very good, but will also wait for the reviews before purchasing.
