installed p3d in c:/program files (x86) win 10

Recommended Posts

I installed p3d in the C drive. What is the best course of action to correct this as I already installed Orbx Vectors and Base as well as REX and PMDG? I know I should have made a new drive for the install.

Personally, I would uninstall all and reinstall outside of C:\ProgramFiles.(X86)

That said, there are a lot of people running it there with no problems at all.  Just be prepared to reinstall everything elsewhere if you do start having issues.

As long as you're not having any problems don't worry about it. The only fix, as Vic says above, is to uninstall and reinstall everything. But that's the same thing you have to do if problems start to show up later. I'd leave it like it is...you may not have any trouble at all.

Every sim I have had over the years was installed in the (x)86 directory and never had a problem. Just requires learning how to set permissions if one does....

The only issue i have run into so far is that Ezdok will not install into the C folder drive. It keeps giving me error code 13. When i looked it up it said this is a problem of installing ezdok into the C drive.

The problems generally do not come from P3d or FSX - they come from add ons that try to write to files in the sim folder. The ones that tell you what the problem is are fine but the ones that just cause your sim to crash with no explanation are the main issue.

As I said, personally, I avoid the problem by simply installing to a dedicated folder. Makes for very easy moving of the sim if necessary.
