I would hope the frame rate and smoothness would tell more. :) X-Plane looks very nice indeed but it's draw to me would be the lack of OOM and it not being CPU limited.

Nice shots!

I have done it vice versa. From X-Plane to FSX - why? Because of better performance (on my system at least) and way better Payware birds.

But I think it is awesome that we have more than just one Simulator, each of them (DCS World, FXS, X-Plane, Rise of Flight.....) fits for somebody. Awesome times for the Simulation community!

Great set of shots!  X-Plane 10 certainly looks much better at night, but I wish there were more options for the cloud and sky textures.  It is my preferred sim of choice.

Have you tried SkyMaxx Pro V3?     It has stunning cloud and sky textures.

Yes, I own SkyMaxx Pro v3 and enjoy the clouds, but do not care for the sky textures.

Ah ok.   I just bought MaxxFX yesterday (global post-processing effects software) and some tweaking with the custom mode of that, results in some beautiful sky colors.

Why?

Well, for starters its a far better and superior application per se

Ooooh, that's fighting talk to some! :Big Grin:

Actually, despite the thread title, I use both X-Plane and FSX and enjoy them both for their own strengths.
